I’m thinking about joining a gym

If I can get a good deal and I don’t have to sign a contract (is that even possible?), I’m thinking about joining a gym so I can exercise in the pool.

First, I should tell you that after oh, five summers of swimming lessons, I’m still a terrible swimmer. It’s all I can do to tread water for a few minutes, and forget about me actually being able to move across a pool. Takes forever.

But, in anticipation of my expanding belly, I think swimming will feel really good and will be a good form of exercise.

I’ve looked into a few gyms in this area that offer different classes in the pool. There’s just one gym that’s close enough to home that offers those classes. I’ve never tried exercising like that, so I don’t know how I’ll like it.

I’m going to see if I can get a free trial pass to test it out.

Then, I can better evaluate if joining would be a good option.

I’ve also thought about just going to a public outdoor pool and exercising on my own or with Shane. That might be a cheaper option, but it doesn’t seem to get that hot here in the summer. Maybe the pools are heated, dunno.

Do you have any ideas for how I can save money and get a good workout?

Hey! I'm Kacie, wife and mother of 3. I write about my family's finance: how we save money, improve our spending, and plan for the future.

I hope I can inspire and encourage you to improve your situation. See disclosure.

I'm adopting a much slower-paced posting schedule, and treating this as a hobby blog now.
