I dunno how I managed to miss this the first time around but WHOA. I'm glad I found it now at bday #1. And I am even more impressed with you now. :)
This is really cool that you documented it all. Will have to keep it in mind if I ever decide to have children!
Happy 1st (belated) Bday Johnny!

Congratulations! I really enjoyed reading your story! I too, had a Bradley birth and near the end was given an oxygen mask. I think they gave it to me because I had been pushing for a little over 5 hours. I needed it to get those final pushes. You did it!!!!! Now don't you feel like you can accomplish anything?

Oh my gosh! Congratulations! I love reading birth stories - it gets me all emotional and starts me thinking on my son's birth. It was the BEST day - as I'm sure you probably feel too. Congrats, congrats!! (

Beautiful :)

I love the transforming room -- ours did the same thing. Pictures moving to reveal medical equipment, bed coming apart, etc. I think it's awesome that they do that now, makes the room so much more friendly, and you don't need to get moved anywhere.

I'm impressed with your ability to get it all down right away -- I was having problems doing that for some reason. :)

Congrats! This brought back memories of my labor and deliveries - also done without an api - and I have to agree that the pushing did not hurt at all!

My youngest will be one tomorrow! Time sure does fly by! Enjoy your little one..I know that you are! :)

Oh, and I was also surprised at how aware I was of things! I was aware of everything except the time.

Later on, I had to ask the midwife about times of various things, but other than that I was really aware of what was going on with my body and what it meant.

Yikes, Lulugal, sorry to hear about the fibroids.

C-sections can be extremely necessary in some cases -- it just depends on the circumstances.

If you have time, maybe you could get a second & third opinion? Maybe one of those opinions could be from a certified nurse midwife. They want to avoid c-sections so much, but will recommend one if necessary.

I trust midwives more than OBs on that, but that's just my opinion.
