I think I moved my baby

Did I move my baby? I might have! I need to ask my midwife at my next appointment if it was actually possible, or if I’m just imagining things.

I was reclining in a chair, poking at my tummy and I thought I could feel different baby parts. I sort of grasped something through my belly and moved it around a little. It was long and lean and I’m guessing it was a limb — maybe a leg?

Right after I stopped harassing my baby, I felt a really big jolt. He was probably like, “What the heck was that!? I’m being invaded!” or something.

Based on the movements I’ve been feeling and our most recent ultrasound, I’m guessing he’s still in the transverse (sideways) position. He still has some time to move. I need him to flip head-down and facing my back. Right now, I think he’s facing my stomach and mostly sideways. So, if he ever gets around to moving like that, I’m pretty sure I’m going to notice such drastic movement.

I hope that gravity will help things, as well as my stretches/sitting positions that I’ve learned from our childbirth class.

  1. LOL! Isn’t it fun to play with the baby in your tummy? I sometimes would tap on my belly and feel a kick back and I think of it as me and my baby playing together. Also, sometimes the left part of my belly would just round up and DF will quickly give the baby a kiss but I think it’s her butt she’s sticking out. Heh.

He still has plenty of time to get in the right position so I say have fun playing with him.

  2. Hehe. Playing with them can be fun! Until they jab you so hard it hurts anyways!! My little guy finally turned head down about 4 weeks before he was born, so you have plenty of time! (being on your hands and knees or standing up w/ your elbows on the counter helps. Gives them a bit more room to move. I used to do this when the space was getting so tight he was hurting me with all the squirming!)

*BTW, I have a bunch of baby giveaways going on over at RaisingPeanuts.com this week!
