What’s in a name?
My name is Kacie. You probably know that, if you’re reading my blog.
On occasion, people will ask me, “Is that short for something?” No. It’s Kacie on my birth certificate.
The spelling is somewhat unique, and for awhile, that drove me nuts when people spelled it Casey or Kasey or Kasee or KC or Kasie or any of the other thousands of ways to spell it. My maiden name is easy to spell, but my married name is rare and not so easy.
So, I’m spelling my full name a lot.
Anyway…I came across this quiz thing to show some meaning behind a person’s name. Here’s what it said about me. It suits me, don’t you think? Check your name’s meaning here.

![]() You are a seeker of knowledge, and you have learned many things in your life. You are also a keeper of knowledge – meaning you don’t spill secrets or spread gossip. People sometimes think you’re snobby or aloof, but you’re just too deep in thought to pay attention to them. You are usually the best at everything … you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic “Type A” personality. You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily. You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind. A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable. You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It’s easy to get you excited… which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don’t stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start. You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together. At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together. |
What’s Your Name’s Hidden Meaning?
Winter isn’t so bad, right?
I’ve been griping about winter too much lately. It’s to the point where I want to maim snowmen.
It’s not the best mindset to have, especially since I can do nothing to change the weather or my present location.
So, I’m going to list some good things about this season. Feel free to add to my list!
- You can drink hot coffee, tea and cocoa and it warms you up, and that’s a good thing.
- You can eat foods you normally wouldn’t during the summer, such as soups, stews, and heavy meals.
- You can cuddle up with cozy blankets.
- Bugs aren’t an issue during the winter. Where in the world do they go, anyway? And, can they stay there?
- Um…the end.
Meredith at Stretching a Buck has tagged me for this meme:
1. What is the one BIG goal you hope to accomplish this week? Taking care of the laundry mountain pile in my bedroom. Trust me. This is a BIG goal.
2. What is the one household chore you do NOT like to do? Washing dishes by hand. Good thing I have a dishwasher!
3. What would you buy if someone gave you $2,000.00? (all debts and bills paid) If I really got that amount, I’d put it toward savings. But, the question asks what I would “buy.” So…I’d buy an extra battery for my camera and go on a cruise! My husband and I would visit Hawaii and see my friend who lives there.
4. Describe yourself using one word. Funny
5. What is the one saying or theme that you live by? The great and mighty oak was once a little nut who held its ground.
6. What is the one household item you can NOT live without? Meredith said her dishwasher, and I wholeheartedly agree. I hope I never live in a place without one!
7. If you had one chance to go any where in the world where would you go? Europe, all over it.
8. List the one person you admire the most. Oh, I admire lots of people for lots of different reasons. My husband, my sister, many friends…too many to name.
9. What is one thing people may not know about you? I used to be able to hop on a pogo stick a lot. Up and down sidewalks. Without hands. It was strange.
In alphabetical order, I shall tag: Ashley, Bee, Brittany, Joanna, Sally Ann, Susan, and You! Feel free to participate or don’t, no pressure.
This video made me cry, it was so funny
I saw a portion of this clip on Ellen today, and it was awesome. The full-length clip made me cry, it was so hilarious! I called my sister and we watched it together over the phone. She cried also. Hope you like it! Be sure to watch both types of pranks (just play it the whole way through).
Also, this clip is of a hilarious Japanese game show that I would like to be a part of.
Food is my favorite thing
Sometimes, I crave certain foods, and I can’t stop craving them until I eat them. It drives me sorta crazy.
For example, tonight for dinner, I made steak fajitas. They were delicious, but I also wanted a certain type of light salsa to go with them. You know–the kind that isn’t too runny, that’s mostly chopped tomatos, onions, green onions, green peppers, a spritz or two of lemon/lime, and a touch of salt. That’s what I wanted. I thought they had it at Aldi–no. Went to Giant Eagle–no.
Darn! I was going to make my own, but the tomatoes didn’t look good. Arg.
On the topic of fajita-like food, I would like two steak tacos from Moe’s.
I haven’t eaten at Moe’s since I lived in Bloomington. There’s one like 20-30 minutes north of me, and the next time I’m up that way, I’m going to have to get a couple of tacos.
But not just any ol way.
No. I want them my way.
Traditionally, for the tacos they glob on sour cream and guac at the end. Plop.
Instead, I want them to put the sour cream and guacamole on first: Spread sour cream on one half of the tortilla, and guac on the other half. It makes for a more flavorful bite all-around, and it keeps everything together better.
Next, add the steak (no beans, please). Then the cheese, so it has a chance of melting some. Then salsa. Then, get in mah belly!
Tonight, I was thinking about shrimp. I would like coconut shrimp in pina colada sauce, and also few in cocktail sauce with a wedge of lemon on the side. The pina colada sauce should have bits of pineapple in it–just a flavor of pineapple won’t do.
For variety’s sake, I would also like some unbreaded shrimp and regular beer-battered shrimp, which I would like to eat plain or in the sauces I mentiond above.
That about sums up my current cravings. Why, oh why, can’t I crave something that’s actually in my kitchen? Life would be so much easier that way.
