Tax Time

January 2nd, 2008 by A reader

Hi Ladies,

It is tax time again & I wanted to let everyone know that if your household income is under $54,000, then you can go to www.IRS.com, click on individual, & you can file for free. Remember federal tax is the same all over, only states are different. You must do fed. 1st & then state. Also if you have your refund directly deposited into your bank account, you can get it really quick & it cost less than if you apply for a RAL (refund anticipation loan).
I manage a Liberty Tax Service office, so if I can answer any ?, let me know.

Saving at Big Lots

November 30th, 2007 by A reader

Big Lots Stores (also called Odd Lots)!! Scour the grocery isles. I’ve gotten everything 69cent Chef B Dee pasta [a bargain in our area] for my kids to all kinds of other stuff–exotics like wonderful canned mango [they are begging for this–wish a store carried it here] to cereal [a treat] and other stuff! Check it out!

Cleaning mix

November 30th, 2007 by A reader

Don’t buy all purpose cleaning spray! Use a mixture of vinegar and lemon juice in a spray bottle. Then spray what needs to be cleaned and wipe it down with an old washcloth.

This is completely safe around children, pets, etc…you could drink it if you wanted to, but I wouldn’t :)

Saving on beef

November 30th, 2007 by Kacie

My hubby generally doesn’t like regular ground beef because of the junk you can get in it. So, when something like london broil or really lean roast meat goes on sale (.99-1.99lb) we will ask the meat dept. to grind it for us and stock up. It is usually very good quality hamburger and cooks down less.
