We bought a bread maker with this in mind and are able to make bread for a fraction of what a loaf would cost us at the grocery store. It tastes a lot better, too! :)

I pick up extra dishes, flatware, and table linens on the cheap at rummage sales. Then when I entertain, I don’t have to buy disposable paper and plastic items that end up in the trash. Being frugal goes along with being green!

We always buy clothes when seasons are over (winter clothes in spring, summer clothes in fall, etc.), buy filters for our Brita pitcher and things like that. It definetely saves us money in the long run. We’re hoping that soon we can pay our car insurance in full so we don’t have monthly payments, too.

For Christmas we picked up a Keurig coffee pot so I can make a quick cup in the morning for the drive to work instead of stopping along the way and buying a cup. It’s paid for itself already.

Plus you can get an individual filter so you can use Folgers, Maxwell House, or whatever instead of buying the individual sized Keurig cups. That saves even more.

When we were in debt, we kept saying this like- buying this will save us money later. Well, we had no money so we couldn’t save any money anytime. Now, we buy just what we need when we have the cash for it. Hopefully, next year we will have enough savings together to buy winter clothes/summer clothes when they are on sale.
