keep looking for shoes. I wear 11 or 11w and have found cute shoes for under $5 at the Community Thrifts on Noblestown and on Babcock as well as the Red White and Blues. Don’t give up! You found some really nice things :)

Oh man, I love that dress! That is SUCH a good idea to layer a skirt under a dress!!!!! I never thought about that.

Thanks so much, everyone! I really do like the look of layering skirts and dresses. It’s not my own idea — I’ve seen other bloggers do it. I’ll see if I can come up with some more layered thrifted combos for the next frugal fashion show!

Hi,
I found you through Balancing Beauty and Bedlam and wanted to comment on your outfits. I have overlooked/passed up dresses and skirts at the 2nd hand stores many times because the length was too short for my taste. I never would have thought to add a second layer; this is one great idea!

Good for you! My local thrift store reduces many things to a dollar on Sundays. I have found everything from vintage dresses to a suede blazer for my husband. The first time he wore it, he dipped the sleeve into a bowl of tomato soup – but that price, who cares?
