Yeah, I think other than when I got the thing for $2, it really only makes sense to use restaurant.com if you know you’re already going there with enough people, not really to make a special trip just because you have the coupon.

Yeah! I tried it once. It does stink that you have to spend a minimum amount, but sometimes it can be a great deal, especially if you go out with a few people.

Have you used restaurant.com? They do “gift certificates” at a discount price. I put it in quotes because it’s not really fair to call it a gift certificate … it is a coupon. For example, you’ll get a $25 “gift certificate” for $10, but the catch is your bill has to be at least $50. And you have to go Sunday-Thursday. But I had a coupon code so I got one for $2 instead of $10, and I figured for $2, I’d try it and see if it’s worth it to keep doing it. We had been planning to try that restaurant anyway, so I figure I’ll invite a few friends.

Yes, I love Groupon! I’ve used it several times in Atlanta. Once for a ritzy spa pedicure and manicure when I knew I would have to get my nails done before serving as a bridesmaid in a wedding. My groupon knocked the price down to $25, the same amount I would have spent at a no frills neighborhood place.

Other times I’ve used it to try new restaurants that were a little out of my price range.

We’ve used Groupon a few times – being in Dallas we have a new deal every day! We bought a $10 gift card to a yogurt place for $5 and then a $30 chinese restaurant gift card for $15. It’s not quite as good of a deal as buying restaurant.com gift certficates – but it’s a cheaper way to try new places!

This might also be something to watch if you know you’re going to visit another city soon – see if you can find a Groupon for restaurants or attractions you might have gone to anyways!
