I just got back from a massive children’s consignment sale. If you’re a parent or grandparent and live in the Pittsburgh metro, you should go!
Snugglebugs consignment is a twice-per-year sale for baby and children’s clothing, gear and gadgets. It’s too late to sign up as a cosignor this time, but you can do it in the spring if you have items to get rid of.
I went in search of a snowsuit and winter jacket for Johnny. I found one in perfect condition for $7. I also picked up some lighter-weight jackets for about $4. Waaay less than what I’d be able to find at a retail store, and much easier than going to yardsale after yardsale!
The Snugglebugs sale is in the old Value City Store in the South Hills — I think it’s technically in Pleasant Hills, or therabouts. Go here for directions.
I had hoped to find a jogging stroller, but I only saw regular ones. The gear and toys will probably move quickly, but there are tons of clothes, and many of them are reasonably priced. Some are priced way too high, though.
I might go back next weekend for the 1/2 off sale to comb through and pick out some more items.
If you have a baby, definitely wear a sling and use your umbrella stroller as a shopping cart. They have some baskets (regular shopping and laundry baskets) and carts, but I wasn’t able to get a cart.
If you go, let me know if you found any good deals!
