Pittsburgh parents: Get to this sale!

I just got back from a massive children’s consignment sale. If you’re a parent or grandparent and live in the Pittsburgh metro, you should go!

Snugglebugs consignment is a twice-per-year sale for baby and children’s clothing, gear and gadgets. It’s too late to sign up as a cosignor this time, but you can do it in the spring if you have items to get rid of.

I went in search of a snowsuit and winter jacket for Johnny. I found one in perfect condition for $7. I also picked up some lighter-weight jackets for about $4. Waaay less than what I’d be able to find at a retail store, and much easier than going to yardsale after yardsale!

The Snugglebugs sale is in the old Value City Store in the South Hills — I think it’s technically in Pleasant Hills, or therabouts. Go here for directions.

I had hoped to find a jogging stroller, but I only saw regular ones. The gear and toys will probably move quickly, but there are tons of clothes, and many of them are reasonably priced. Some are priced way too high, though.

I might go back next weekend for the 1/2 off sale to comb through and pick out some more items.

If you have a baby, definitely wear a sling and use your umbrella stroller as a shopping cart. They have some baskets (regular shopping and laundry baskets) and carts, but I wasn’t able to get a cart.

If you go, let me know if you found any good deals!

  1. Our sale was a couple of weeks ago and we got some great deals. Yours sounds much bigger though! There are two more sales coming up in nearby towns, but I don’t know if I’m going. My girls’ closet is already full of fall clothes I got great deals on at the first sale (and at 50% off day at Goodwill) so there’s really no point. Sometimes I get so excited about the cute clothes and good deals that I lose my head and buy way too much. I wanted a jogging stroller too, but I need a double and the only one they had cost too much. Besides, the tag said it was “brand new” and it was obviously NOT. I hate when people lie about their items!
.-= Jenny´s last blog ..Yay for synchronized napping =-.

  2. Thanks for inviting Roanin and me to tag along. It’s a relief to have his winter clothes all squared away. O, and you’re officially famous, Kacie! One of my girlfriends from college emailed me a copy of this post. (Hi, Jen!) I was proud to tell her that not only are you my friend IRL, but that you took me to the sale with you. I’ll have to have you autograph something for her. :)

  3. That is a HOOT and a half! I love it!

Sorry, comments for this entry are closed at this time.

Hey! I'm Kacie, wife and mother of 3. I write about my family's finance: how we save money, improve our spending, and plan for the future.

I hope I can inspire and encourage you to improve your situation. See disclosure.

I'm adopting a much slower-paced posting schedule, and treating this as a hobby blog now.
