I’m still working on getting out more, I think it can just be hard at first with a baby NOT to get in a rut. (shrug) I’ve been thinking about trying some simple sewing, since I have a little one I could potentially outfit…even though I have very little in the way of sewing skill, heh.

When I’m in a rut, I try to get back into hobbies and activities I’ve neglected. Trying new things is just as good, too. Right now I’m trying to get back into sewing and I started up knitting.

I’ve definitely felt like the days repeat themselves sometimes. I break out of the rut by setting goals for myself, the budget, the house, the blog, whatever, and then work on them.

I also LOVE learning new things… have done some free online courses and adore digital scrapbooking (no mess to clean up and you can do a lot for very little money!)

As long as you and your family are happy, do what works best for you! Kids grow up too fast – enjoy babyhood while it lasts!

I think trying to re-cultivate some of your other interests is a good way to get out of a rut. I recently tried to get the creative juices flowing by taking a knitting class, and really enjoyed it. Now I’m attempting to teach myself to crochet via videos on YouTube and library books.

Maybe honing your photography skills will lead to other hobbies, like scrap booking. You already have the perfect little subject!
