Giveaway: Copy of TaxCut from H&R Block

The nice folks at H&R Block have invited me to give away a copy of TaxCut’s Premium Federal software, which includes free federal e-file (but I believe you have to pay to e-file for your state). If you haven’t yet purchased tax-prep software, go ahead and enter for a chance to win!

To enter:

1. Leave a comment here. Be sure to leave your correct contact e-mail address on the form (not in the comment text box) so I can get in touch with you if you win.

2. If you’re expecting a refund, tell us what you plan to do with it. If you expect to owe money, just state that.

3. I will draw a winner using

4. Entries will be accepted until Friday, March 6 at midnight EST.

If you win, I will e-mail you and post about it here. You will have 24 hours to get in touch with me and tell me where to send your prize. If I don’t hear from you, I will have to draw another winner.

Good luck!

Oh, and if you’re curious: We’re expecting a net refund of about $600. All of that is going to the principal of our car loan.

  1. If we get a refund, the money will go straight to our emergency fund. We are trying to build it up a bit more before our little girl comes in July! :-) Thanks for the giveaway Kacy!

  2. We are expecting to pay. :( If we do end up with a small refund, it will go straight to bill paying!

  3. I hope we get a little bit back. How do you feel about the amount you are getting back? If I remember correctly, isn’t that how much you get back from the stimulus from having the baby? If so, I think it’s AWESOME you all almost broke even. That’s pretty cool. :)

  4. I am hoping to get a $3 refund. If I do get it, I will probably save it or put it in my emergency fund.

    Thanks for the offer,

  5. We expect to owe a small amount. TaxCut Premium is what we’ve used for the last 2 years and I’d love to win it!

  6. I’d love to win a copy of Tax Cut. I used the program last year and it worked really well. We broke even last year but I suspect we may owe some for this time around. Bummer!

  7. thanks for the terrific giveaway, i always hope for a refund but never seem to get one. minsthins(at)optonline(dot)net

  8. I are expecting to pay.

  9. we owe this year and no refund

  10. Usually our refund runs about the same as your, 6-8 hundred.
We almost always use it for home repair.

    Thanks for the contest!

  11. We are guessing we will probably owe money. :-( Hey, somebody’s gotta help reduce the deficit, right? :-)

  12. We’re expecting a refund; it’ll go into savings for now, and later we’ll spend it on home improvements.

  13. I’m getting one and paying out, so I guess its a wash.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  14. Sadly, we’re looking at a refund because Scott took off several weeks of paternity leave in 2008. We always try to owe the government a few bucks come tax time so we didn’t hand them an interest free loan. Any refund will go toward our mortgage refinance so we can own our home in 15 years (or less) instead of 30.

Hey! I'm Kacie, wife to Shane and mother to Jonathan (7), Vivienne (5) and Amelia (2) . I write about my family's finance: how we save money, improve our spending, and plan for the future.

I hope I can inspire and encourage you to improve your situation. See disclosure.

I'm adopting a much slower-paced posting schedule, and treating this as a hobby blog now.
