Yeah, we might do some breakfast things but a lot of the time we just have a bowl of cold cereal or oatmeal. Might stick with that to keep it simple.

Then again, it would be nice to have a pancake or waffle once in awhile!

I was going to warn you about the certain spices if you are going to breastfeed, but I see you have already been warned :) I just planned some meals that are pretty mild-or leave out garlic, onions, spicy spices-lol...of course, they may not taste that good :) None of my kids had problems (I have 5) but you never know. Also, you might think about some breakfast items. I would make up waffles, pancakes and muffins or quick breads. It's just nice to have a quick food for any meal you can pull out of the fridge..oh, one other thing I did was to make batches of pre-cooked hamburger or ground turkey. Froze it in serving sizes and when I needed I would either zap it for about 30 seconds or I would just throw it into what I was making :) Meatloaf and meatballs are another great idea too :)

Hello Kacie!

I like your idea of making some food ahead of time. You will probably thank yourself 10 times over after the baby arrives.

I like to keep meals in the freezer just to cut down on the temptation to eat out and to have a quick nutritious dinner when I just don't feel like cooking.

One of our favorite items to freeze with good results is meatloaf and meatballs. The meat mixture is the same for both. I fully cook them ahead of time and then take out the meatloaf in slices as we need them.

The meatballs make delicious meatball sandwiches and spaghetti and meatballs.

Take Care,

Trixie

If you might also do some snacks. I found it hard to even eat for a while because I was so tired my body was kind of shutting down. I don't think I could have stomached something thick or heavy like pasta or chili at those times. Some of my favorites around the holidays are cookies (of course) and Chex mix. I think chex mix is particularly good because it's partially healthy, and it's such small pieces you can eat it really slowly if need be. Plus, it doesn't need to be heated up so you can keep it nearby and eat without going to the kitchen. Or to have in the bedroom during night feedings.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone!

@MrsMoney thanks! But I definitely didn't come up with the idea. I think I read it online somewhere, myself.

@Jessica - great advice! I've been making my freezer meals a bit more bland than usual -- no onions or garlic and limited spices. If they do seem to affect me, at least my husband will be able to eat 'em! Hopefully though, we'll both be able to eat those. We'll see!

A word of caution: if you plan to breastfeed your baby, be careful with the chili and garlic until you know how Baby will react to them. I have been unable to eat any Mexican or Italian foods with any of my babies (*sniff*). Spicy or garlicky foods have always hurt their tummies. Excellent idea to get so many meals prepared ahead of time. You'll definitely be glad you did!!

Kacie! You are such a genius for freezing soups flat! That never occurred to me and makes so much more sense than what I've been doing. :) Thanks for the idea! I love making large pots of soup and freezing. Chili is good too. I think you've got a great stash already. Wow!
