That is a great tip! I knew that some stores would do that, but I haven't done it in a long time. My brother has one of those receipt scanners hooked up to his computer. He scans his receipts and throws them away. He has never had any trouble getting stores to honor a printout of the receipt. As long as the barcode will work, they will accept it. TIP – I hang on to all my receipts too but they can become quite cumbersome. I finally got one of those letter size accordion file holders from a dollar store. I keep it in my car, labeled by month and all my receipts go in there. When I start a new month I empty out what was in there from the year before. So easy and tidy!

Yes! When I worked at Old Navy, they did the same thing. You had 14 days to bring your receipt in and get a refund if you had paid more than the current price. All you had to do was bring in the receipt, the cashier scanned it, and gave you the refund if the current price was lower than what you paid. I only did it maybe a handful of times.
