First loaf of bread

My first loaf of bread! And it actually turned out ok! Yay! I used a recipe within my owner’s manual. It’s half whole wheat (I used all-purpose flour for the other half). It was simple enough. Just measure and toss the ingredients in, turn it on and hope for the best.

I’ll definitely try making another loaf again soon. If you have a bread machine and you’ve been too intimidated to try it otu (like I was) give it a shot already!

  1. I also use my bread machine to make home-made pizza dough, breadsticks, even cake! The owner’s manual is a great place to start. Also, if you don’t like that hole in the bottom that comes from the stirring-thingey (technical term), you can bake the bread in the oven after the machine does all the hard work of kneading, resting, etc.

  2. We use our bread machine about once a week for homemade pizza dough. (I have the recipe memorized now!) I haven’t made a loaf of bread in a while. Next time, I’m going to let it knead and everything in the machine, then bake it in the oven. My mom tried this the other day with a loaf of bread she was making, and it came out much softer than it usually does when baked in the machine.

  3. Congrats! It looks really good. I had a bread machine once but never ended up using it and gave it away.

  4. i’m so glad you used your bread machine and had a good first experience! :) i use mine once a week at least (to make pizza dough). love love love it!

Your first loaf looks so delicious! Baking bread can be so intimidating and sometimes it takes a litte trial and error but it looks like you did a great job:)
