Rite Aid single check rebate issue

In the past, I’ve mentioned that it’s a good idea to keep track of your rebates to ensure you actually do get your money back.

I’ve also mentioned that Rite Aid is one of my favorite drug stores.

I bought a certain type of toothpaste last week and two other free-after-rebate products, submitted my receipt info online as usual, and waited to check the status of my submission.

The other two products cleared fine, but the toothpaste wasn’t credited. I was quite certain that I bought the correct tube during the correct time period, so I e-mailed customer service about it.

I gave them my receipt info and asked if I purchased the wrong product.

They looked up my record and determined that I did buy the right toothpaste, and credited me with the rebate.

This is the second time that this has happened to me, and it’s possible it’s happened to some of you Rite Aid rebate shoppers as well.

Maybe there’s a glitch in the system? I don’t know.

Just hang on to your receipts until your rebate items clear and you get your check. And if a product isn’t credited and you think it should be, a nice e-mail to customer service will have them promptly look into it.

  1. Yup…I’ve only done RA SCR since June and have had two items not show up. I just sent in my second fax to prove I bought the item. I’ve not yet been able to have them approve it online after providing (again) the receipt #, rebate #, and product description. They have so far wanted “proof” faxed in. Which is such a pain.

I’ve started saving my receipts until (at least) the item is approved for rebate.

  2. I had this happen in February and they asked me to fax stuff in. I was positive I bought the right thing, but I was busy with work at the time and didn’t have time to fax stuff in so I let it go. I was pretty mad though.

  3. Hasn’t happened to me yet, thankfully! I’ve had nothing but good experiences with it. I just got my first SCR check in the mail the other day for June ($14.98) and I’ve already got about $40 stacked up for July!!! Wow. :)

  4. I had this happen once. When I emailed Rite-Aid I never got a response! I didn’t follow-up, but I will if it happens again. I always keep my reciepts.
