My CVS and Rite Aid deals for the week

I hopped over to CVS to use some soon-to-be-expired Extra Care Bucks (I had $12 worth). I bought:

: CVS pantiliners $0.99 (got $0.99 in ECB back)

: Suave body wash on sale 2 for $4; I bought 2 and used a BOGO coupon and a $0.50 off coupon making those $1.50 total

: Softsoap body wash $5.49 (monthly deal); had $0.75 off coupon and got $2 ECB

: CVS brand jumbo diapers were marked down to 50 percent off ($4.74/pack for size 1). I needed to spend a little more, so I bought one pack.

It was a few cents under $12, but the cashier adjusted my extra care bucks down, so I paid nothing out of pocket, plus I earned $2.99 in ECBs back. I participated in a CVS advisor study this morning and earned $10 ECBs for my time, and I expect those to print on August 1. So no biggie for not having many ECBs to work with at the moment.

Next, I went to Rite Aid. I bought:

: Crest Expressions toothpaste $2.49 (I think) on sale, and will get $2.49 in rebate. I had a $0.50 off coupon as well.

: Electrasol tabs on sale for $2.99. Had a $1.50 coupon and will earn $2 in rebates, earning me $0.50 after rebate.

: Luvs mega diapers are on sale for $9.99 this week (originally $14.99). I had a $5 off coupon, and I bought a pack of size 1s for $5. Diapers for less than $0.06 each is a pretty good deal I think.

Total out of pocket was $8.47 and I’ll get $4.49 in rebates from it, making it a net of $3.98.

So far, I have 142 size one diapers and paid $5 for all of them, making them $0.035 per diaper for my stash. Not too bad.

  1. You are doing GREAT with the diapers!!!

I’ve been meaning to ask how you’re feeling, but now I see you have a personal blog which probably tells all : )

  2. Our Rite Aid shopping looks very similar today, lol. I got the toothpaste and the Electrasol gel, haha. Was going to get the tabs, because that’s what I normally use, but figured the gel would last longer for the same price! Wasn’t much going on in the world of drugstores this weekend, though.

  3. oh! just saw your comment on my entry lol. i didn’t have the $1.50 electrasol coupon! and i had used the crest coupon last week :)

  4. Woo hoo Kacie I beat you on CVS stuff this time. :-) *doing my happy dance*

The panty liners were on sale at my CVS for $0.89 but still gave the $0.99 CVS bucks on the register, so I came out ahead.

    Oh yeah oh yeah.

  5. I’m glad to see you’re stocking up on diapers, too. I’ve been taking advantage of the Pampers sale at Target and at Walgreens. I kinda felt funny doing that since I’m not that far along yet but not anymore!

  6. Where’s the electrosol rebate?

  7. @ Meredith: Thanks so much! Yes, I’ve been doing very well. It’s been a simple, mostly non-eventful pregnancy so far. Woo hoo! Hope you’re feeling well.

@Lulu: For some reason, your comments always get stopped by my spam filter. I try to catch them all, but sorry if I’ve missed some!

@Frugal Chick: Yeah, I felt sorta funny buying diapers already, but I figure if I can get a few cheap packs here and there, it will make a big difference once I actually have a baby to put in them!

@Tiffanie: I’m not sure why you didn’t get the Electrasol coupon. Sometimes, coupons are just available regionally. No fair.

@Saph: I saw the Electrasol rebate in the Rite Aid weekly ad. It’s probably also mentioned in the monthly rebate catalog, but I didn’t look there.

  8. I love Rite Aid. I actually EARNED over $5 and got over $53 worth of product. :) I actually had a $2.25 Q for the Electrasol. Woohoo!

  9. Stocking up on diapers is a good thing. I did the same with my 3. I got a super mega pack of size 3 diapers at my first baby shower and I thought was a bit odd as the kid wasn’t even here yet…but it turned out great having some different sizes stockpiled and we did the same on our own for the 2 younger boys as well. If you find you have a baby that quickly grew out of the size 1 diapers, just try exchanging them at the store for the size you need. “My husband picked up the wrong size, can I switch it for the one we really need?” goes a long way! No one needs to know that you got them on sale…with a coupon…and a rebate. LOL

I got the $2.25 Electrosol coupon as well, so I will definitely be heading over to Rite Aid this week.

  10. Casey…just a heads up. Stocking up on diapers now -SMART!You probably will need more size 2’s than 1’s. We were in 2’s for awhile. 1’s and 3’s breifly, now we’re in4s. I lOVE CVS brand diapers. They’re my fave store brand, followed by Target, then Walmart. When they’re getting changed every 2 hours…..We still stick with Pampers at night…For overnight coverage(now that he;’s not getting up/changed every 2-4 hours) they can’t be beat.

  11. KAcie…PLease forgive me my last post. I feel like such a toolbag for misspelling your name….A year from now, if not today, you will most certainly understand how such a thing could happen. Welcome to motherhood club!

  12. Hey Jessie! Thanks for the suggestions. No worries about misspelling my name–it happens :)
