Free prenatal vitamins at Meijer (and more!)

Emily passed along a helpful tidbit, and I thought I’d share it with you.

If you have a doctor’s prescription for prenatal vitamins, you can get them for free at Meijer! The retailer also offers certain antibiotics for free.

But wait, there’s more!

Meijer also has a Family Quick Careclinic that you can visit for simple things such as flu shots, ear infections, UTIs, pink eye, etc. If you don’t have health insurance, this might be a great option for those simple but annoying ailments.

Please check with your local Meijer store to find out more information.

I’m bummed that there isn’t a Meijer near me–I’d totally get my prenatal vitamins there if I could. Instead, I fill my Rx and pay for it with my Flexible Spending Account, so for now, there’s no out of pocket expenses.

Next month, I’ll transfer that prescription to Rite Aid, and in doing so, I’ll get a $30 store gift card (coupon for that is in this week’s ad).

  1. You can also buy prenatal vitamins over the counter. The active ingredients are all the same. My little guy is 8 months old now and I still take my Prenatals. They do awesome things to your hair and nails! :)

  2. Good point, Sara.

I prefer to get mine filled at the pharmacy counter though, because that’s the only way I can pay for them with my Flexible Spending Account.

  3. If you ever move back to Indiana, Marsh has free prenatal vitamins, too.

Hey! I'm Kacie, wife to Shane and mother to Jonathan (7), Vivienne (5) and Amelia (2) . I write about my family's finance: how we save money, improve our spending, and plan for the future.

I hope I can inspire and encourage you to improve your situation. See disclosure.

I'm adopting a much slower-paced posting schedule, and treating this as a hobby blog now.
