Y’all are probably sick of hearing me talk about getting ready for Florida! I would be too, if I was a reader. Sorry ’bout ‘dat. Anyway, Shane and I will be back late Tuesday. I have some wonderful guest posts scheduled to run in my absence, so be sure to check them out and comment! I’ve heard that WordPress is being weird with the “scheduled post” feature. I really hope each post goes up as planned.
By the way, if you have a post idea for me (I really could use some help on that front!) you can contact me directly, suggest it in the comments section, or post it in the “Skribit” widget in my left sidebar.
A big thank you to everyone who has commented on my pregnancy announcement! Whether you offered congratulations or shared a tip, I truly appreciate it, and will look at those comments throughout the rest of the year, when it comes time to buy baby things and the sort.
Here’s some links that have caught my eye lately:
Mrs Micah discusses the importance of tipping. Whether you’re at a restaurant, or getting your hair cut, or whatever, it is NOT frugal to be stingy with your tipping. In fact, it’s a pretty stinky thing to do. Be generous with your tipping, and if you can’t afford a 20 percent tip for a dinner, then don’t go to that restaurant. Go out to lunch, order “to go” or make your own. And, if you have a coupon, tip on the amount before the coupon. Nobody likes a miserly tipper.
Mercedes had a bizarre encounter with a woman who refused to accept a coupon. Is it a pride thing? Or what? I’m baffled. She coulda saved $2! That’s like…a half of a gallon of gas. Oy.
Trent landed an interview with the famous Amy Dacyczyn, author of The Complete Tightwad Gazette (link directs you to my first blog post here). I really wish she’d start a blog, but instead, she’s enjoying her retirement. Good for her!
Finally, my lovely pal Jessica has a great post on some baby items you can consider buying second-hand. She has a 15-month-old son and is expecting #2 later this year.
