Ha! I had to laugh at the first one - I am 5 10 as well and people ask that as well. Problem is, I DID play basketball and still love the sport. I was a center...yeah, typical tall women stereotype :)

About Lasik, unless you have had some injury or disease, I don't think your eyes are going to settle down much. I got my eyes done 7 years ago. It was fantastic, getting rid of glasses and being 20/20 (for the first few years). However, my eyesight does keep getting worse (all part of getting older). Eventually, I'll redo it.

As far as a medical procedure, it was the biggest non-event. You go in one day, they take all kinds of measurements of your eyes. They crank the numbers and set an appointment for another day. On that day, you come in (with a designated driver). They lay you back in a chair with some equipment hanging nearby (like a dentist's setup on steroids). They cover the eye they aren't doing at the moment (so they don't drop stuff in it). Put numbing drops in your eye, clamp the lid open and attach a suction ring to your eye (to hold the eye steady). Then they swing the machine over and you hear a buzz sound as it slices the top layer of your cornea off and flip it over. Then you hear a bunch of clicks (that's the laser pulsing) as they reshape your cornea. Then they flip the top layer back on and make sure it's smooth. At that point, I had 20/20 in that eye (I could see the pattern int he ceiling tiles). Then they repeat the process with the other eye.

That's it except for the clear covers that they tape to your eye to keep the eye moist and to keep you from rubbing it while the top layer of the cornea heals back down.

The only reason I needed a driver at that point is because the clear covers mist up so much I could only see through the tracks that the drops made.

Awhh I actually like this Season's American Idol - I feel like it's so hard to choose which one is my favourite (though I've only really had 5 favourites since the top 12). I just wanted to say too that vision would be my worst sense and every year mine get just that much weaker. It's a pain in the hole that you're only allowed one (free) eye check every two years on our government health care plan. But I'm not complaining that much, at least I get one free one - some people don't get any for free from their government! But yeah, ditto on the Lasik eye surgery. Can't WAIT till I can get that! I'd love to wake up and be able to see the ceiling. lol

I love Law and Order too. I have a really good sense of smell too. It seems mine improved with my last baby. My husband hates it because I am always trying to track down a strange smell.
