I went through a 2-minute shower period, but I really like something longer because it lets me wake up more. Having Micah in the shower with me saves water a) because we switch off while washing and b) because he likes short showers, oh, and c) no daydreaming, just conversation.

Another thing I do is put on a CD of various songs I like. I know how long the songs are, so I can tell how long I've been in the shower.

I used to work at a camp. We got two minute showers. Fast forward to three years later. The water heater in my rent was broken and gave me about two minutes of hot water at a time. It took six months to get it fixed (horray for living on an island). Once you train yourself, you'll be suprised how much you can get done in the shower in two minutes. Good luck!

I used to take long showers but right now, I would like to help in any way I can to conserve water and electricity. The same goes for my kids, they don't get to play in the shower anymore...nor sing :-)

One of the things we did when we built our house was to put all of our bathroom fans on 15-minute timer switches. If the timer goes off before you're done, you've been in there too long. I now try to be quicker and beat the timer (I'm a nerd, I know!)

Wow.. I wouldn't go that far to conserve water and energy.

Most of the time, spend less daydreaming and less singing during a shower, and you'll find out that you don't really need to shower that long! :D
