Pittsburgh’s second annual financial education fair

I saw a worthwhile advertisement while commuting to work recently.  If you live near Pittsburgh, this upcoming financial education fair may be a perfect opportunity.

According to youcontrolyourmoney.com, the event will include on-site financial service from non-profit, government, and financial institutions free of charge!

When: Saturday, March 1st, 2008
Where: Duquesne University – Power Center in downtown Pittsburgh, PA

  • Free 1-on-1 financial counseling
  • Free tax preparation (for those with income below $40,000)
  • Financial how-to workshops
  • The chance to discover a variety of local business for financial help
Note: according to the site, most are non-profit or charge a small nominal fee for their services

Have you attended a similar event in the past?  Please leave a comment and write about your experience.

Also, does anyone know of similar events in other cities?

  1. What a great event! Sounds too good to be true. Just sorry that I do not live int that area!

I have only attended one such event, but it had no income limit. Be wary of the salesmen. Sometimes “free” means free chance to buy!

  2. Can’t say I have but it seems quite a bonanza for a small business…

Hope some folks will make good use…

I hope I can inspire and encourage you to improve your situation. See disclosure.

I'm adopting a much slower-paced posting schedule, and treating this as a hobby blog now.
