After-Christmas sales

December 27th, 2007 at 3:38 pm

Did you hit the stores on Dec. 26? I did.

I went to Joann Fabrics for their 70% off Christmas sale and bought things for next year.

I got candles, Christmas placemats and tissue paper.

I also got some bath gift sets, including bubble bath, bath salts, lotions, etc. I’ll be able to use these for Christmas or sooner, since not all have a Christmas-y theme.

I’ll give them as-is or repackage them in a gift basket.

I tried to limit how much I bought, since I didn’t want to store a ton of items this year.

Overall, it was worthwhile for me to go shopping and get a head start on next year.

How’d you do? What stores did you visit? What deals did you find? Do you think it was worth it?

I went to an outlet mall because my friend wanted to. I didn’t notice any great deals.

I hit Target on my lunch break from work (we’re just two blocks away) and picked up our packaging supplies and cards for next year at 50% off, plus some extra white tissue paper for birthdays.

I was blessed enough to receive money specifically for replenishing my wardrobe from a family member, so I took advantage of the great online sales to order some new clothes. Except for two pair of jeans I specifically was after, just about everything was 50% off or more, and I mostly got free shipping as well. Just because it’s not “my” money doesn’t mean I can’t get the most for it. ;o)
