Lol! I remember being served pea soup at school and the comments that flew around the table made the stuff inedible, no matter how it actually tasted. I still can't eat it today although it smells good.

I count myself lucky at having been able to overcome my creamed corn aversion.

I so agree! Split pea soup is DELISH but looks really straaaange. We like ours with cornbread. Sometimes we'll put a dollop of sour cream or plain yogurt in our bowls too.

This is definately the time of year to incorporate new soup recipes into your menu. I just checked out a book from library called “Taste of Homes Big Book of Soup”. It has pictures on every page and so many yummy recipies with simple ingredients that I already buy.

Also the library finally called me to say that they had an available copy of “The Complete Tightwad Gazette”. YAY! So far I am enjoying all of the references and tips but it’s a large book to read in three weks time.

So I went on “BookMooch.com” to see if their were any available copies and low and behold someone was giving away the first addition. So I will be getting it for FREE. I have the other two on my wish list and hopefully they will become available soon as well.

Sorry for writing so much. But thanks for introducing me to the “Tightwad Gazette” and for visiting my blog.

I can’t wait to see what your shoes have to say about you.
