Just a few interesting articles…

The Frugal Billionaires

Sure, billionaires fly private jets, live in massive mansions, dine at the world’s finest restaurants and shop at Gucci, Prada and Louis Vuitton. After all, they’re rich. But some of the world’s wealthiest people aren’t so flashy. They’re frugal–for billionaires, at least. [Full story here]

Just goes to show you that unless you live frugally, you won’t be rich. You know those rich people that flash their cash and drop it on well…everything they want? Yeah. They’re not rich anymore. Sorry, M.C. Hammer.

If your friends are frugal, great! I like this tip from Ten Great Reasons to have Frugal Friends:

Keeping Up with the Browns: For those who do enjoy a bit of financial competition, having frugal friends can provide a new type of competition, the opposite of keeping up with the Joneses. Rather than trying to buy everything the Joneses have, try to save as much as the Browns.

Maybe your friends are frugal billionaires–who knows?

  1. What a great post! Everyone in America should read this and stop trying to keep up with the Joneses! With today’s economy, it’s not worth it to even try…you’ll just go broke :)

  2. Thank goodness – I’m about 15 years past keeping up with the Joneses.

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  3. Hey Kacie,
Thanks for commenting. I’m sorry it took so long for me to reply or acknowledge you had written me. I usually see that you visit my moms blog every once in a while. Our family has tried the cookies you are talking about. They did not come out right either. They were just gooey and chocolatey. But delicious anyways. Thanks for commenting again!

Hey! I'm Kacie, wife to Shane and mother to Jonathan (7), Vivienne (5) and Amelia (2) . I write about my family's finance: how we save money, improve our spending, and plan for the future.

I hope I can inspire and encourage you to improve your situation. See disclosure.

I'm adopting a much slower-paced posting schedule, and treating this as a hobby blog now.

Keep in Touch!
